Corruption, economy, Environment, imperialism, insects, Oil, Regime Change, The U.S., The World, War

Those morons in Washington just cannot figure out which lie they want to use to justify going to Venezuela to kill and rob them of their oil. That's all it is... they use the military to kill a bunch of them then they go in and rob them. The US has been doing that for more than 100 years and especially in South America... murder and larceny.. How about it? You want to join the military so you can go down there and get killed trying to murder and rob another country? The oil companies will stand right up and salute you... they might even say the pledge of allegiance while they put you or your sons and/or daughters in the grave after doing your part to make them rich. Of course, it probably won't be much of fight... like it was in the Middle East. You don't mind killing a few women and children do you? We killed about a million of them over in the Middle East. Terrorists? Who is the terrorist? Well, if you slaughter a enough of them you might just squeeze a few "terrorists" out. Until then, I think we are looking at one right there in that photo.

Mike Pompeo Claims Terror Threat as Cause for US Action in Venezuela - Link

Are we total idiots? The politicians defund public education so it cannot operate very well then they say charter schools would be better. All they are doing is taking something that could easily be working great and choking it off so they can turn it into a profit generating machine for some corporations. We, the taxpayers, end up paying a whole lot more money to make a handful of people rich... including the politicians that are bribed to do it... have the teachers get paid a whole lot less and the quality of education to be far below what it should be for our money. All just to make those people rich. It is a great big ripoff. The politicians are the equivalent of criminals that abuse their power to steal taxpayer money. Abuse of power. That is what it is. One more way to steal our wealth. They are disgusting pigs and they certainly do not deserve to have the positions they are in. They are totally corrupt. They destroy the public education system so their friends and the companies that bribe them can get rich on your tax money. They ruin the schools that your children go to so they can get rich... period. Part of their plan for education is to strip key parts of it back so they can dumb your children down and keep them ignorant and easier to rule.  Read More

Charter Schools Are Pushing Public Education to the Brink - Link

35 Minute Audio or read the transcript | ”What I really saw [in Iraq],” Sjursen recalls, “was the results of American messianism in the world, of American exceptionalism, the notion that we could remake societies in our own image. What it really meant was a whole lot of dead children, a whole lot of car bombs, a whole lot of teenagers shooting each other in the night. And then, of course, a whole lot of Americans getting killed as well, although less of us than the Iraqis.”

Listen to their brutally honest discussion about the vital need to reframe patriotism in the age of the “forever wars” and the current state of the military-industrial complex. You can also read a transcript of the interview below the media player.  Read/Listen

Suppressed Ancient Underwater Discoveries That Could Rewrite History

25 Minutes Video | This is an incredible discovery that could change everything we thought we knew about history. Arcane accounts from Egypt, Greece, Rome and Sumeria tell startling similar stories of the oceanic destruction of advanced civilizations which vanished into the world’s oceans and forgotten to the ravages of time. New technology scouring the vast depths are discovering the ruins of these lost lands. To the disbelief of established scientific communities, the evidence gathered correlates to surviving tales of an antediluvian world predating the establishment of Göbekli Tepe. These lost cities tell of the ongoing conflict between Enki and Enlil hold the secrets to unlocking the ancient code of human origin and destiny.

How to Destroy a River and Create an Environmental Catastrophe in One Fell Swoop - Link

This is the sort of thing the Trump Administration seeks to protect from the public will. Mainstream media news outlets like: CBS. NBC, ABC, PBS, CNN, NPR, MPR and WPR do not report on such things around your country for the most part. The mainstream media operates to protect corporate interests and the government and you cannot rely on them to report anything those two entities do not want you to know about.

"The photos and videos in this supplemental Duty to Warn column need to be viewed by everybody living downstream from the proposed PolyMet mine tailings lagoon – scheduled to be built near Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota, a St Louis River river-town in northeast Minnesota. Hoyt Lakes is the northernmost of the 12 river towns on the St Louis River estuary which empties into Lake Superior, the least polluted of the Great Lakes. Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world (by surface area) and it contains 10% of the entire world’s remaining fresh water.

Tens of thousands of people live and fish and harvest wild rice and depend on the fresh water that is provided by the St Louis River estuary. If what happened to the permanently polluted river in Brazil a week ago happens to the proposed PolyMet tailings lagoon, those 12 towns and their people will be severely – and permanently – impacted. Some of the towns may be destroyed and unknown numbers of people will be drowned, injured or displaced." Read More

Does Washington Rule the World? - Link

"One of the most disturbing aspects of the past two years of Donald Trump foreign policy has been the assumption that decisions made by the United States are binding on the rest of the world. Apart from time of war, no other nation has ever sought to prevent other nations from trading with each other. And the United States has also uniquely sought to penalize other countries for alleged crimes that did not occur in the US and that did not involve American citizens, while also insisting that all nations must comply with whatever penalties are meted out by Washington."

"The United States now sees itself as judge, jury and executioner in policing the international community, a conceit that began post World War 2 when American presidents began referring to themselves as “leader of the free world.” This pretense received legislative backing with passage of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1987 (ATA) as amended in 1992 plus subsequent related legislation, to include the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act of 2016 (JASTA). The body of legislation can be used by US citizens or residents to obtain civil judgments against alleged terrorists anywhere in the world and can be employed to punish governments, international organizations and even corporations that are perceived to be supportive of terrorists, even indirectly or unknowingly. Plaintiffs are able to sue for injuries to their “person, property, or business” and have ten years to bring a claim."

"Sometimes the connections and level of proof required by a US court to take action are tenuous, and that is being polite. Suits currently can claim secondary liability for third parties, including banks and large corporations, under “material support” of terrorism statutes. This includes “aiding and abetting” liability as well as providing “services” to any group that the United States considers to be terrorist, even if the terrorist label is dubious and/or if that support is inadvertent."  Read More

The Coming Economic Annihilation

The pigs at the top are squeezing all they can out of this country now because it will not be very long before the dollar bites the dust. First, it's getting about time for the stock market to choke. Maybe we still have another year or two... but... the big one is slowly but surely brewing in the background. The world is turning its back on the US. China and Russia are leading the way. We have slaughtered millions of innocent people in about 7 countries in the last 17 years not just because we wanted to steal their oil, but they did not want to play "Dollar Standard." We can't do that to the whole world and the whole world is sick of watching us do it to all these poor, defenseless countries and they do not want to be next. They do not have to kick our ass on the battlefield. No... all they have to do is quit playing Dollar Standard in tune with the other, biggest countries in the world and ignore the US. When they get that going pretty good, the US military will shrink right down. The US will not be able to pay for it. Watch out though... those guys at the top are totally stupid. They might just decide to go down fighting, but more than likely, they will just slip out the back with all their big fortunes and use a lot of what's left of the military to focus on us... because we are going to be in real bad shape and finally ready to get the fools out of that government... except... by then it will be too late. That's right, by then those "fools" will have a double strength, militarized police force and plenty of soldiers to keep you and yours in line while you choke on all the new pollution and various toxic elements and who knows what saturating everything... and you won't know what because they are deregulating everything including any need to tell you all the ways you are being poisoned. And... while you are poor, sick, and working your ass off to barely survive... oh, if your lucky... those "fools" at the top are going to be living the high life. The real war has already begun and it does not use guns and bombs and missiles... it uses money and we are going to lose. So... if we don't get out there right now and clean those pigs out of our government this country is going to turn into a fucking slum. And... if we don't stop choking off the environment we are all going to die pretty soon anyway. Have a nice day!  ▲

'Outrageous!': Despite $21 Billion Giveaway From GOP Tax Scam, Big Banks Cut Jobs and Slashed Lending - Link

What we have to share is written on a carrier wave of love for what we cherish. That love, moving outwards into the world through us, is the moonlight. What we write here is for those with the kamikaze courage to take in the facts of intensifying climate chaos, growing economic inequality, crashing biodiversity, growing fascism, a global debt bubble and extinction scenarios that are already coming through the front door. It is for those who are feeling the implications of these in the pit of our stomachs, even before the radical changes needed in our personal and collective lives dawn fully into awareness.

It is for those who, given all that is collapsing, are risking treasured images of the future, and venturing into conversations about adaptation rather than just mitigation. It is for those who are tiptoeing into the unthinkable with a question on their lips: “How then shall we live?” Or maybe more pointedly, “How then shall I live?”  Read More

Climate Disruption Dispatches Archives

"This is the stuff that worries me most. We don't know what we're doing, not trying to stop it, [and] with big consequences we don't really understand." "Insects are at the heart of every food web, they pollinate the large majority of plant species, keep the soil healthy, recycle nutrients, control pests, and much more. Love them or loathe them, we humans cannot survive without insects." —Prof. Dave Goulson, University of Sussex

"If insect species losses cannot be halted, this will have catastrophic consequences for both the planet's ecosystems and for the survival of mankind," report co-author Francisco Sánchez-Bayo, at the University of Sydney, Australia, told the Guardian. Sánchez-Bayo wrote the scholarly analysis with Kris Wyckhuys at the China Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing.

Calling the current annual global insect decline rate of 2.5 percent over the last three decades a "shocking" number, Sánchez-Bayo characterized it as "very rapid" for insects worldwide. If that continues, he warned: "In 10 years you will have a quarter less, in 50 years only half left and in 100 years you will have none."  Read More

Scientists Issue Dire Warning About Collapsing Insect Populations - Link

Personally, I have noticed, in the last few years, that there have been fewer and fewer insects during the warm months of the year. I was born in 1957 and grew up in the Southeast. There use to be plenty of insects everywhere in the Spring and Summer. This past Summer there were very few. It is frightening. It can be the first signs of the impending extinction of life on Earth. It is only going to take a few more years of us continuing to live the same way and our fate will be sealed forever. Are we doing this on purpose? Are the leaders of our world taking us to our death? Is there a hidden plan to kill off a large part of our population?

Presented in exclusive reporting by the Guardian’s environment editor Damian Carrington, the findings of the new analysis, published in the journal Biological Conservation, found that industrial agricultural techniques—particularly the heavy use of pesticides”—as well as climate change and urbanization are the key drivers behind the extinction-level decline of insect populations that could herald a “catastrophic collapse of nature’s ecosystems” if not addressed.

“If insect species losses cannot be halted, this will have catastrophic consequences for both the planet’s ecosystems and for the survival of mankind,” report co-author Francisco Sánchez-Bayo, at the University of Sydney, Australia, told the Guardian. The Green New Deal Lands in Congress - Link

Rapid transformation to clean energy seizes center stage and wins over some Democratic presidential hopefuls.

The non-binding joint resolution, initially sponsored by Democratic House newcomer Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Democratic Senate veteran Edward Markey of Massachusetts, has already become an instant political sensation.

Embraced by a coalition of environmental and social justice activists, the idea is also questioned by many in the energy and climate policy establishment. Scorned by influential Republicans and powerful industry lobbyists, it has been endorsed by several early Democratic presidential candidates, including co-sponsors Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren(D-Mass.). Ocasio-Cortez's political mentor, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who has not yet announced whether he will make another presidential run, also is a co-sponsor. Read More
