Robert Heston's Philosophy for Hypercriticalmode

Step outside the box and we see that our technology is evolving to accommodate overpopulation. Rather than use it to promote increasing quality of life and longevity for the human race and our planet, we are using our abilities to destroy ourselves. Overpopulation is at the root of our dilemma. We are using up the planet’s resources while we devalue ourselves as individuals.
The future, in general, is fast becoming a moot point. The foreseeable future will see the cultures of the world become ever more lost in that great blender of globalization. As diversity dissolves into corporate domination, economies become subservient to the same, and life loses its value. Capitalism feeds on people like a beast with an insatiable appetite. What it cannot use will die. Overpopulation continues and our numbers increase. So, we push the weak ones aside. We even demonize them like the enemies we create for slaughter with wars in other countries. And there's a way to turn a dollar every step of the way.
The effects of overpopulation propagate critical issues with our environment, economies, resources, politics, the police, and wars. Corrupted politicians and heads of corporations only seek to increase the problems and destruction in spite of the people. They saturate the mass media with propaganda. Major issues and events are hidden from the news. Education is sterilized, commercialized, and dumbed down. They are trying to strip away original thought to form a more subservient public. All lies and deception designed to promote ignorance and control the population. The people are oppressed with their rights and freedoms gradually taken away. The abundant wealth they produce is stolen for the benefit of a chosen few. Those few seek to turn that wealth against us and become our rulers.
Our government has become the definition of fascism. With the election of Donald Trump, congressional control by the GOP, and many states going the same way, we are allowing an acceleration in the destruction of our democracy, the economy, and the environment. Deregulation of industry, fossil fuels, and Wall Street are a recipe for disaster. Industry can further oppress labor. Ever increasing use of fossil fuels without a transition to green energy is fueling global warming to the point that, within just a few years, there will be no stopping its progression. Increasing toxic elements in our environment have the cancer rate drastically increasing while the life expectancy of Americans is actually growing shorter. The oceans are certainly dying. The ranks of the poor and poverty is increasing. 50% of America is poor. Our economy is hollowed out as all the wealth flows up. I have no doubt that Carl Marx will again be proven right, capitalism is doomed to fail. War has become a permanent feature, perpetrated by the US and NATO. America seeks to dominate the world and threatens war with Russia and China. The list is a long one.
The human race refuses to evolve. We abhor the changes it would take to save ourselves and the life on this planet. Our technology evolves but human nature lags far behind. All this sounds very cynical, I know. These are my observations from having read quite a lot of facts about the things that are happening in this world over several years. My main sources are listed and linked on the Resources page.
Right now, we are on the threshold of terrible consequences from the way civilization operates. The consequences will be growing ever more severe. My educated guess is that it will be global warming that ultimately takes us out. The event that should seal the deal will be methane rising from the Arctic Ocean and the permafrost. The current increases are nearing catastrophic levels for feedback loops. The impending event will be a sudden, catastrophic release of Arctic methane over less than a week and that will be sufficient to kill off most plant life while causing extreme heat that it will trap from the sun (the greenhouse gas effect). Large, detrimental processes are already in progress around the world and are on the increase. By 2025 the process will be completely self-propagating. Consequences will be affective to a level evident to the whole world. World glacier levels, aquifer levels, and rain patterns will become sufficiently dynamic in affecting fresh water levels, large areas of plant life including much needed food crops, forests, rain forests, and fresh water resources for ever larger groups of the world population. CO2 emissions from ever receding permafrost areas will surpass CO2 emissions from current human activity. It is already at mid twentieth century levels. Currently increasing methane plumes from the Arctic Ocean seafloor will accelerate while floating methane clathrate (or also called methane hydrate) in near surface levels of the now exposed Arctic Ocean will release by virtue of exposure to the sun. By 2050, large groups of people will be dying from starvation and migrating away from uninhabitable areas. You cannot really predict wars, but some finite resources will be more noticeably depleted which can and will spell war. Western world economies, along with the rest of the world, will have become irrefutably receding. Nationalist and fascist ideals will become self-evident in the western world’s system of propaganda. Critical events in economic structures will become ever more debilitating
The spirit of humanity, over time, appears to be growing cold and dying and if so it will become petrified with the psychopathy trickling down from the top. But that spirit yet lives in many of us and can be awakened within us all. If enough can realize the truth, we can take action and exorcise our power to change the world. We can rid ourselves of the delusions and insanity that would destroy us. We can put solutions into action that will promote life for humanity and the planet we need to survive.
